DIY Friendship Bracelets.

Howdy!

As it is Summer (although I don't think our English weather
got the memo - apparently it is still May here) I have gone through the Summer Rite or making friendship bracelets!! Recently, I found a new way to make them so I have decided to share it with you, Internet, and I hope you find it useful!

Okay, the first one is called the Fishtail. Well, its actually called the Skinny Chevron, but I don't like that name and this is basically a Fishtail plait/braid, so it makes sense. Trust me.
The photos are pretty bad quality but I will try my best.

1. Get 3 pieces of embroidery thread (or string) of different colours that are around 3 feet/36 inches/91cm.
 2. Put all the thread together, making sure they are all the same size and fold them in half.

3. Take a little bit from the top and fold it over the thread like so.

4. Put the thread inside the little loop you have created, to tie a knot.

PHEW! That was tough!

Just kidding ;)
 5. Pull your knot nice and tight, again making sure all the threads are the same length.

6. Lay your strings out as shown, imagining there is a mirror line between the 6 threads. For example the blues are facing each other, then going out are the pinks, then the purples at the end.

 7. If it helps stick some tape onto your work surface, to keep the threads in place.

For the purposes of this tutorial, lets call the purple strings A1 on the left and A2 on the right, the pinks B1 on the left and B2 on the right and the blues (you guessed it) C1 on the left and C2 on the right. It's just easier for me to write and won't confuse you if you are using different colours.

8. So, take string A2 and bring it across the 2 other strings.

9. Take A2  and put it behind the strings on the left (A1,B1,C1).

10. Then, do the same with the other string of that same colour, A1.

11. Put A1 behind the strings on the right (A2,B2,C2)

11. Then, take the next strings farthest away from the centre, in this case, pink or B1 and put it behind the strings on the opposite side.

12. And do the same with B2.

 13. Then, do the same with C1 and C2.

Remember: Always start with the ones that are furthest away from the 'mirror line' or centre.

14. Next, just keep going!

15. When you have got to a length that will fit you, or about an inch or two from the end, just tie and not and you're done!

Great!
I hope you liked that little tutorial and, more importantly, could understand it!
If you didn't quite get it please leave a comment and I will help you. Or, if you found it super useful and awesome then also leave a comment saying so.
Hope to hear from you!
TTFN.
